Partnering with North Korean organizations to support the disabled
FHDA (For His Dream Alliance, Inc.) FHDA (For His Dream Alliance, Inc.) has been working together with KFPD (Central Committee of Korean Federation for the Protection of the Disabled) which manages all the disabled centers and organizations in North Korea. With these organizations, FHDA does their best to support effectively for improving the welfare of the vulnerable social group including the disabled, orphans, and the old.2
Support to improve education environment, develop high value-added special crops, and supply special use of trees for the reforestation.
FHDA does their best not only to build the cultivation environment, but to instruct the skills for cultivating the various high value special crops in order to improve the welfare of the disabled, children and the old in vulnerable social group as well as to provide the equipment and the facilities for the basic computer training of elementary, middle, and high school students in North Korea. Especially, FHDA will continue the various supporting for developing and supplying the special use of trees which generate economic added value, and keep the tree supplying project for the reforestation.3
Assembling delegation visits to North Korea
For the past 4 years, FHDA has formed a Vision Trip team, 2~4 times a year, to regularly visit orphanages and facilities for disabled children. Without political ideology, for North Korean orphans in nursery (0 to 4 years old), secondary (5 or 6 years old) and in a secondary academy (7 to 16 years old) will be provided with medical tool, medicine, food, nutrition supplement, nutrition supplies. This is to brighten the future of North Korea children, and to provide better educational environment through the noble spirit of the gospel of Jesus Christ.4
Dispatch skilled professional to provide more efficient support
If necessary FHDA will dispatch skilled professional, and keep close collation with relevant agencies to improve North Korea’s social point of view toward disables and vulnerable class. Also FHDA will provide vocational rehabilitation trainings to support disables and help them to live as members of the society.5
Support to develop professional vocational and self-reliance training
Since 2011, FHDA provided vocational rehabilitation training, instruments and tools for disable’s rehabilitation. Training includes solar powered electric installation skill and opticianry. FHDA will continue to support and develop more professional vocational rehabilitation training.6
Childhood disease prevention and health condition improvement
FHDA currently supplies orphanages and school for the disabled children with water filter and solar powered lights in order to improve basic sanitation and living environments of school classrooms and dormitories. In the future, small-scale, solar powered, power generator will be installed in institutions and school facilities and solve the problems regarding the lack of heating and lightning, through providing continual technical support and supplies. In addition, plans will also be focused to improve the health status of children through providing clean supply of drinking water to prevent disease.7
Cooperation with outside organizations and improve health care relief
FHDA plans improvements regarding the malnutrition of North Korean children and residents, epidemic prevention, pests and environmental sanitation, improvement of diplomatic skills and outdated medical equipment, as well as drug treatments that residents do not receive due to a lack of medicine, especially the children, orphans, and children with disabilities, to provide continual relief through health care business.Material support and relief alone cannot solve the health problems of North Korean inhabitants, therefore, FHDA supports and assists the cooperation of the U.S. and other western medical personnel and diplomatic institutions to arrange a continuous integration of medical supplies, medicine exchange, and cooperation.
